Nephrologie

The Division of Nephrology sees itself as an academic institution at which research, teaching and clinical practice are inseparable facets of our daily work: As the nephrology reference center for southeastern Austria, our goal is to provide patients with state-of-the-art care for a wide variety of kidney diseases in all stages of disease progression. In close collaboration with colleagues at other clinics and institutes of the Medical University of Graz, we deliver this care in our inpatient ward, at the dialysis station, in different special clinics and as part of our consultation services.

The clinical and scientific training of young colleagues is an area of particular concern: They should acquire critical thinking skills and the ability to advance our discipline through excellently evaluated academic teaching and supervision by experienced mentors as they prepare their final theses on clinical and experimental nephrology.

Alexander Rosenkranz

"We see ourselves as an academic institution that is dedicated to providing the population with nephrology care and evidence-based treatment of kidney diseases. Research and education are the pillars of modern academic medicine according to the new Graz Medical School."

Alexander Rosenkranz, Head of Division
